The SCAD Museum of Art: A Decade of Celebrating Emerging and Established International Artists

The SCAD Museum of Art, a premier contemporary art museum that features emerging and established international artists through commissioned works and rotating exhibitions in Savannah, Georgia, is now celebrating its 10th anniversary. It reinterpreted the immersive trend while staying faithful to its own curriculum as an eminent institution of art, design, and fashion.

The 10th anniversary features exhibitions that are uncanny and surreal, fully resonating with the current zeitgeist. With interdisciplinary artist Hein Koh, painter Izumi Kato, and experimental theater director Robert Wilson and more, these exhibitions are definitely a growing international roster of artists that provides opportunities for students from all majors to learn about wide-ranging artistic practices and world views.

Our favourite has to be People Are People by Christian Siriano, a Fashion Designer who rose to fame after winning the fourth season of the TV competition series Project Runway and is known for his bold, high-octane eveningwear.

Christian Siriano designs have been worn by Oprah; former First Lady Michelle Obama; celebrated actresses Amy Adams, Sarah Jessica Parker, Leslie Jones, and Zendaya; pop icons Lizzo and Janelle Monáe; LGBTQ hero Billy Porter; and top models Coco Rocha and Ashley Graham, among others. He was named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in 2018 for his leading contributions to body diversity on the runway and red carpet.

People Are People marks Christian Siriano's first solo museum exhibition, honouring his electrifying contributions to fashion. Drawn from his extensive archive, the exhibition features bold creations from his decade-plus career that celebrate self-expression for everybody, at every age.
